There’s no connection like the one you will make with a horse. SJE and Munchkins and Minis are here to help young people to adults learn to ride and care for horses, and experience the unique bond between horses and humans.
Munchkins Club
For ages 5-12
Munchkins Club is a new and exciting program geared towards our young equestrians. This is a fantastic way for kids to be educated about the wonderful world of horses in addition to their current ground and riding classes.
It is the perfect class for current and new equestrians to further develop their skills. Our goal is to teach our kids all the responsibilities’ of owning and taking care of their equine companions. Kids will meet life long friends (humans and horses!) and learn all about their wonderful equine friends they love while having a super fun time!
Munchkins Club is offered once a month, year round, in addition to Christmas, March break and summer sessions. We also offer Munchkins Club during P.A. days throughout the school year!
Please note this is not a Riding class.
Program Outline:
Students will learn the following topics:
- Horse and Rider Safety
- Take care of the horse – from stable management to feeding routines
- Grooming including bathing
- Tack management, care, and cleanliness in the barns
- And much much more!!!
Students are required to bring:
- Weather appropriate clothing. *
- Form fitting pants (No sweatpants, no baggy clothing)
- Snack and water bottle
- Hat and sunscreen (if applicable)
- Running shoes and boots with a one-inch heel (No sandals)
Classes are 1 hour in length.
Munchkins Club Program Offerings:
Classes are offered in three terms:
- Winter / Spring – January to June
- Summer – July to August
- Fall – September to December
